News: March 2009

Back on DHI

On the 14th of March, we welcomed our first guests at the island's Lodge since our summer break!

While out fishing on the ' Eendracht' we sited 30 whale sharks at Cape Inscription! What an amazing sight to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat!

The weather has been perfect for land based fishing. Our groups have caught plenty fish, including tailor, pink and black snapper and spannish mackerel.

In the second week of March, Sally from Tourism Council Western Australia visited the Lodge for a day. Through this visit our Tourism Accreditation was finalized. This is an achievement to be proud of and is proof of our high standard of business operation.

The Loggerhead Turtles have been hatching in good numbers.

The Department of Environment and Conservation started a Cat - Eradication Program at the end of  March. Throughout the season, guests have to be aware of the traps put up by the DEC. The Department is willing to hand out information to all of our guests and further details are to be found on www.dec.wa.gov.au
